Roles & Locations
Touring roles (Tour Guides, Hosts, Hostesses & Interpreters) are available across Australia (our operations bases are located across every State and Territory) and New Zealand. Touring staff have the opportunity to constantly expand their skills and experience by moving between regions and tour styles (if practical), or to base themselves out of their favoured location. Reservations roles are based in our Hampton office in Melbourne, Victoria. Duties are varied and include taking reservation bookings/queries via the telephone and internet for Intrepid Connections for Travel Agents and travellers.

Training Program
Training for any role in Connections is extensive. Our team are considered the best in the industry, for a reason.
Touring crew receive a comprehensive training program, based around "on the road training" with one of our trainers, and backed up by specialist training by organisations such as National Parks & Wildlife and St Johns Ambulance. Connections is a fully accredited Australian tourism business.
All touring crew receive constant feedback and mentoring from experienced operations staff.
Reservations staff receive training in all facets of customer service, sales and the relevant online reservation systems.
What You Need to Know
- Tourism is not a "9 to 5" industry. Working for extended periods, on different rosters in normal. A guide will work 10-14 hours per day and will spend their spare time researching to build their own destinational knowledge.
- Customer service and safety is the central focus of any role in Intrepid Connections. If you have any difficulty dealing with people in any circumstances, this is not the career for you.
- The training offered is a considerable investment by Connections. We expect a commitment from staff to remain with us for at least 12 months employment.
- For tour crew positions - the majority of your time will be spent away from your home address.
Requirements
- All staff who work for Intrepid Connections need to be able to legally work in Australia or New Zealand.
- All Tour staff must have a current First Aid certificate. Tour Guides must have a current commercial vehicle licence or the ability to obtain one, along with the mandatory drivers authority certificate.
- The ability to speak a second language is preferred, but is not a requirement.
