Back to Australia
Covering an area of 2.5 million square kilometres, the state's size is roughly equivalent to continental Europe. With this in mind it's a good idea to travel with a tour group - this means no long drives for you! Instead you can kick back and enjoy the ride.
Please note that the camping tours in Western Australia are not accommodated in permanent tents. Due to the remote regions explored, the camps are either at campgrounds, or bush camps within National Parks. You can either pitch a tent or choose to sleep in a swag under the stars! You'll definitely get a real taste of the outback with us on tour!
Children travelling on tours with us throughout Western Australia must be 12 years of age or over, again due to the remote regions we explore. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Climate
Western Australia has one of the most diverse climates in Australia, from the tropical north to the temperate south, which means equally diverse holiday experiences.
There are also two distinct seasonal variations. In the southern half of the state we experience four seasons - summer, autumn, winter and spring, while in the north there are just two - the 'wet' and the 'dry'.
Northern Tropics
The northern winter, or 'dry' season (April-September), has long days of sunshine and blue skies. Temperatures range from 24°C overnight to around 34°C during the day, and could be called 'perfect weather'.
Coastal temperatures vary little throughout the day, while the interior may top 40°C by day, and dramatically drop towards 0°C in the cool of night.
The northern summer, or 'wet' season (October-March), has temperatures in the mid to high 30°Cs and high humidity.
Southern Sunshine
South of the Tropic of Capricorn the weather is less dramatic. The southern coastal areas of the south-west region average a maximum of around 32°C in summer, and 14°C in the winter. Moderate, comfortable and welcoming.
